Four Year UC/CSU College Admission Requirements

Students planning to apply to four-year colleges must meet specific subject and testing requirements.  The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems share the same minimum requirements, referred to as A-G.   Most other four-year colleges have similar requirements, check with individual colleges for more detailed information.

Be sure you will meet all minimum requirements by the end of your senior year.
  • Any “D” or “F” grade must be re-taken & students must earn a minimum of a “C” grade to meet the requirement.
  • Be sure to note there is an Art requirement for UC’s and CSU’s. If you haven’t met this requirement, be sure you have an Art class on your schedule for your senior year.
  • These are minimum subject requirements. The more competitive the college you plan to apply to, the more competitive your schedule needs to be.
  • GPA’s and SAT or ACT scores will be used, along with other information, to determine admissions.
