The Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District campus, including Santa Ynez and Refugio High Schools, has been closed since Monday, March 15 and will continue to be closed through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year so that our students and staff can practice social distancing and isolation. School is anticipated to reopen in the fall; however, we will continue to carefully reassess this reopening as it gets closer in light of guidance from federal, state and local officials.
Although our physical campus is closed, our students' education continues online. Teachers are using District-provided tools like our Canvas learning management system, Office 365 productivity suite--including Microsoft Teams video conferencing--as well as a variety of other free tools such as Zoom video conferencing and YouTube Live to deliver content, to hold discussions, and to assign, collect, grade and return student work. It is absolutely essential that students check Canvas and stay in communication with their teachers during this time, so they don't fall behind academically. Online learning plans by department are available below.
  • All SYVUHSD students age 18 years and younger can receive a free meal from the Solvang School District, lower campus, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
  • EBT Card Information can be found here.
