Santa Ynez Valley Union High School — Bell Schedules
Santa Ynez High School operates on an alternating block schedule. With the exception of period 7 which meets every Tuesday through Friday for 60 minutes, students attend their 100-minute odd period classes (1, 3 & 5) on one day and their 100-minute even period classes (2, 4 & 6) the next. These odd-even days alternate throughout the year.
Flex Days are held approximately eight times a year for teachers' professional development. They occur on intermittent Mondays. Check the school calendar for when Flex Days are scheduled.
Final exams are administered over a three-day period at the end of each semester. This is the schedule for the first day on which the final exams for periods 1 & 3.

Although students are dismissed early on Flex Days and on some days during final exams, the minimum day bell schedule is only used once a year on Homecoming Friday.
