This course covers the principle components of the modern automobile.  The emphasis of the course is on the owner - operator level.  Students increase their knowledge in the areas of proper maintenance, repair, and operation of the automobile.  Other areas covered are the purchase of a vehicle, laws covering the automobile and its owner, and an introduction to careers in the automobile industry.

In this course, information learned in Introduction to Auto is expanded.  Students receive advanced training in all areas of the automobile with an emphasis on trouble shooting and repairing the automobile.  Advanced training in this class prepares students to use automotives as a foundation for their vocation or avocation.

            3.)  Brakes/Suspension/Steering                                    4.)  Fuel/Smog systems

This course provides instruction for students preparing for a job or career in automotive brakes and front-end industry.  Students will be trained for jobs such as brakes mechanic helper, vehicle front-end mechanic’s helper, and general mechanic’s helper.

This advanced specialty automotive course is designed for the student who has an interest in tune-up and emission.  The course offers the student advanced training in the areas of tune-up and emission system and smog testing.

This course is designed to teach students drafting skills and to develop a thorough understanding of the basics of mechanical drawing.  Topics covered will include: single and multi-view drawing, dimensioning, auxiliary views, working drawings, and an introduction to architecture computer aided drafting.

Two and three dimensional computer aided drafting techniques are taught using Microstation software.  Areas covered will include: architecture, advanced mechanical drawing, rendering, and virtual reality.

This course is a self-directed course for advanced topics in computer-aided drafting.  Students will be asked to submit a detailed study plan that will include year, semester, and quarter goals; complete a job skills unit; and write a report about computer-aided drafting.

This course prepares students for employment, or entrepreneurship in agricultural mechanics occupations including: farm power, construction, machinery and equipment, welding and other areas.  This class also prepares students to continue in advanced occupational training in this field.  Students will develop, enhance and perfect their skills in the areas of arc, oxyacetylene and MIG welding.  Cutting techniques and use of the plasma cutter are emphasized.  Individual student projects will be designed and constructed.  Additional areas of instruction will include electrical wiring, irrigation systems, and basic principles of construction.
