New Announcements
- ATTENTION SENIORS: Don’t forget, Jostens will be in the board room today during nutrition break to deliver cap and gown orders. If you have a balance due it must be paid in cash. Once again cap and gown order delivery today in the board room during nutrition break.
- Seniors who have received scholarship and/or awards and would like to have them announced at senior awards should bring the information to Mrs. Westfall by Friday May 16th.
- Please announce if students need community service to come see Mrs. Rasmussen for the ½ marathon this Friday from 3-6 and Saturday 6am to noon. She can be found in the girl’s locker room all day Thursday and Friday. All students who are participating in the half marathon for community service hours must attend a brief meeting at Nutrition in the old gym on Friday.
Don’t forget…..Sunday is Mother’s Day! Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a great start to the day at the annual Santa Ynez Valley Youth Recreation Mother’s Day Breakfast. A Valley tradition, this event is held here at Santa Ynez High School from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon. The AYSO will once again prepare a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, ham, sausage, coffee and juice, all for a donation of $5.00. All proceeds benefit our local youth recreation programs and facilities.
Daily Announcements
- For students who are interested in Welding and Advanced Automotive as a career or hobby, be sure to consider these classes for your fall registration. The Ag Mechanics class will offer you the opportunity to gain valuable welding skills, as well as, learning to master the new plasma cutter. Automotive skills can be used on many levels, especially when students have access to the latest equipment on which to learn. When combined with welding experience, a student can develop some great career options. For questions about these classes, see Mrs. Christian in E-2 ½ or stop by and see Ms. Bibby and Mr. Ideker in the VE- 1 & 2 shops.
- Are you interested in animals of all kinds? Do you enjoy advertising, marketing, & customer service? Would you like a job or career in the Hospitality Industry such as restaurant management, hotel management, or as a trained chef? We have classes that will get you started on your way and give you the opportunity to earn up to 15 credits per semester. Integrated Animal Science, Marketing & Merchandising, and Restaurant Occupations are classes that offer these opportunities. Please see Mrs. Christian in E-2 ½ or your counselor for questions or information.
