HANCOCK COLLEGE ECON 101 AND POLI SCI 103 REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR NEXT YEAR'S SENIORS
Current juniors planning to take Allan Hancock College Dual Enrollment classes in the 2016-17 school year for Economics (Econ 101) and Government (Poli Sci 103) must turn completed paperwork in ASAP to the SYHS Guidance Office. Student taking these classes receive three (3) college credits and five (5) high school credits per class. These classes also meet high school graduation requirements and college admissions requirements. Online registration begins May 2 and will fill quickly. Click HERE

8TH GRADE PARENT MEETINGS FEBRUARY 23 (ENGLISH) AND 25 (SPANISH)
Parents of current 8th graders planning to attend SYHS beginning in the fall are invited to attend the 8th Grade Parent Meeting on Tuesday, February 23 (English) or February 25 (Spanish) to learn more about the registration process, course selection and high school activities. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in the SYHS Little Theatre. Additionally, SYHS counselors will be meeting with all 8th grade students at each grammar school during the week of March 7 through 11. Parents do not attend the meetings at the grammar schools.

REGISTRATION UNDERWAY FOR SENIORS PLANNING TO ATTEND SANTA BARBARA CITY COLLEGE OR ALLAN HANCOCK COLLEGE
All seniors planning to attend SBCC or AHC should begin their application process. SYHS will be taking seniors to SBCC on March 4 and to AHC on March 18 for testing and orientation. Student must complete the online application before signing up. Please click on the links below for instructions.

HISPANIC PARENT MEETING TO BE HELD MARCH 10
The Meeting will be held Thursday, March 10th, at 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the
SYHS Library. Details to follow. Mailer will go out at the end of February 2016.
CASH FOR COLLEGE TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 4
The Meeting will be held Thursday, February 4th, at 5:00pm - 8:00pm in the SYHS Library. Assistance with filling out the FASFA application from start to finish will be provided. Please bring most recent parent Tax information.
FRESHMAN PARENT MEETING TO BE HELD JANUARY 26
The Meeting will be held January 26th in the SYHS Little Theatre. Information about freshman counseling
program, High School graduation requirements, University entrance
requirements, 4-year plan and sophomore year classes and registration

COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID INFORMATIONAL MEETING TO BE HELD JANUARY 14
The Meeting will be held Thursday, January 14th, at 6:00pm in the SYHS classrooms E3/E6. Information about college financial
aid will be covered by Allan Hancock College's Financial Aid Advisor,
Raul Aldama. Mailer will go out 1/6/2016.
JUNIOR PARENT MEETING AND RETURN OF PSAT SCORES* TO BE HELD JANUARY 13
Meeting will be held Wednesday, January 13th, at 6:00pm in the SYHS
Little Theatre. Information about high school and college entrance
requirements, choosing the right college for your student, the college
application process, financial aid, senior year classes and summer
will be covered. Mailer will go out 1/5/2016.
College Board has notified us along with other High Schools that
student scores will begin to be released to schools starting January
15th. Therefore, student PSAT scores will not be available at the parent meeting on January 13th.
SOPHOMORE PARENT MEETING TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 30
The Sophomore Parent Meeting will be held Wednesday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m. in the SYHS Little Theatre. Information about college admission - both community college and Four-Year - will be covered along with course planning for the final two years of high school. A mailer will go out this week.
SENIOR PARENT NIGHT HELD SEPTEMBER 16
The annual Senior Parent Night was held Wednesday, September 16, at 6:00 p.m. in the Little Theatre. The topic was college admissions.
PSAT WILL BE OFFERED OCTOBER 14
The PSAT will be held on our campus Wednesday, October 14. There will be no Saturday testing this year. Information will be mailed home soon.
COLLEGE FAIRS TO BE HELD IN SANTA BARBARA
Two major college fairs are upcoming and open to all free of charge. The Christian College Fair will be held September 28 and the Santa Barbara County College Fair will be held November 4. The times for both are 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Please click on the respective links below for more information.
